An innovative approach to the Elk River problem.
Overview
The Elk River (WV) area has been suffering ever since the chemical spill of
2014.
The objective was to study the problem and develop an innovative solution that would take
advantage of the resources in the area and combine them with modern technologies.
It was also important that the solution would mainly help the locals, without needing new
infrastructures that would require big investments.

Target Group: Fishing Enthusiasts
Since the area's most important resource is the Elk River itself, it seemed only natural to focus our efforts on the fishing enthusiasts community.

Android Application
To help local fishermans and tourists connect, we used a modified version of the Reservation application,
crafted in such a way that it would allow for specific searches and functionalities
needed.
For example, the search system has been entirely remade in order to focus only on the
three main searches we decided to implement, without the need of inserting addresses or
a search radius

Locals Can Contribute!
Locals have access to a special functionality, where they can use a Google Map integrated
to move a marker and add new fishing spots for customers to find.
Alternatively they can also specify the GPS coordinates if they know them, and then use
the map to check if it's correct.
